Lessons from the Flight Deck
In light of world events, you may be thinking, “What can I do to make a difference?” Focus.
Focus on What Matters.
As I flew on and off of aircraft carriers operating in constantly changing, challenging and often times hostile environments, at the end of the day I had to put our emotions aside and Focus on What Matters in order to get the job done.
This is about being deliberate, being disciplined and knowing what your end state is-your goals, so that you can make the best decisions possible to accomplish those goals.
So think about those things that do not contribute to the end state. Get rid of the noise.
We Focus on What Matters: Achieving our Mission successfully. Supporting relief efforts. Coming home safely.
That pupose, that focus, is what allows us to be successful and achieve World Class Execution.
Take the time to Focus on What Matters.
Life Balance. Your Family. Your Health. Your Work. Your Community.
Make your plan and open the door to new possibilities.
